Our Story through Music
Liz Firth is an experienced music educator with more than 35 years of teaching clarinet and saxophone. Throughout her career, she has inspired and nurtured students of all ages, helping young musicians build strong musical foundations and develop confidence in their playing. She has taught at a number of leading private schools and colleges across Adelaide, Sydney, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley.
Liz is a graduate of the Newcastle Conservatorium (DSCM) and the Elder Conservatorium at the University of Adelaide (BMus Hons). She was accepted into the Master of Performance program at the Royal College of Music in London and, for several years, performed as a casual clarinetist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
Passionate about music education, Liz believes that every student can succeed with the right guidance and encouragement. She creates a supportive, positive learning environment where students are challenged, inspired, and empowered to discover their musical potential. Many of her students have gone on to become confident, accomplished young musicians with a lifelong appreciation of music.
In addition to teaching and performing, Liz has worked across many areas of the Australian music industry, including promotions, retail buying, wholesale, marketing, and music publishing. Today, she is dedicated to teaching clarinet and saxophone from her private studio, where she provides personalised lessons tailored to each student's goals and abilities.
Liz is also a partner at Andy Firth Music, where she helps develop and promote Andy Firth's extensive range of educational sheet music for clarinet, saxophone and flute students.

His engaging approach helps musicians of all ages and abilities develop technical excellence, musical confidence and a lifelong passion for music.
Andy is an award-winning composer/arranger with more than 1,200 compositions for concert performance and educational publications. His acclaimed educational publications, Play Clarinet with Andy Firth and Play Saxophone with Andy Firth, have become a best-selling series and a part of Australian and international woodwind examination syllabuses.
